Step 2.

CHECK YOU HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED

Listed here you will find all the materials you need to make your water filter construction a success.

Remember, these filters will save sight and protect lives, so it is important to make sure you have everything you need.

Individual Parts –

IMPORTANT – Make sure everyone familiarises themselves with each piece, how it looks and feels.

1x Plastic bag ↓

This will be used to contain contaminated water before it’s filtered at its final location.

2x Rubber washers ↓

Used to provide a watertight seal, ensuring not a single drop of precious water is wasted.

1x Plastic tube ↓

Clean water will pass through this tubing into its holding receptacle, ready for drinking, cooking, and washing.

1x Nozzle ↓

Will be used alongside the rubber washers to secure a watertight seal.

1x 20 litre collapsible water container ↓

A clean and safe place to store filtered water.

1x Ceramic Filter ↓

The key component of your construction project, the ceramic water filter is patented to ensure the very best filtration quality.  This item is fragile, so please handle with care and ensure it’s placed in a location on your table where it cannot roll off the table, or get accidentally broken.

1x Hole maker ↓

This will be used by the recipient to reinstall the filter into other containers, bags, or buckets in the future.  It won’t be used as part of your programme today, but please retain so it can be packed alongside the rest of the materials.

1x Hook ↓

Recipients will use this to hang the whole filtration system in their home, school, clinic, or hospital.

1x Abrasive sponge ↓

This is used by recipients to maintain the filter so it provides years of service.  You won’t use it in today’s programme, but please do pack it alongside the rest of your materials.

1x Tap nut ↓

Used to secure a tap to the front of the clean water container.

1x Spout and handle ↓

A secure way to manage the water pour so not a drop is wasted.

1x Spout holder ↓

Part of the tap mechanism.

1x Velcro tab ↓

Used to secure some materials together so they are ready to be delivered to the recipient.
